Sir Ivan Bushfire

Autumn has arrived and we are welcoming the cooler weather and a touch of rain. We are pleased to see the end of summer as it was quite disastrous for our local community. You may have heard of the Sir Ivan bushfire which ripped through our part of the state a few weeks ago, burning 55,000ha, destroying farms, homes and livestock. Fortunately for us the fire started 2km away from our boundary fence and the wind took the fire in the opposite direction. However for the people and farms in its path it has been absolutely devastating. The community has received great support from people far and wide all lending a hand to help in many different ways. BlazeAid have arrived and set up camp in Dunedoo and Cassilis to help rebuild all the fences that have been destroyed. If you have some spare time why not consider joining BlazeAid, come and spend some time in our community and help our farmers get back on their feet. Our community groups are working together to provide food for all the volunteers and we can guarantee country people know how to cook, you shouldn’t go hungry!
